I’m an open-tabs person. The kind who keeps things open for days because I’m not done with them yet. These are the tabs I haven’t closed. Things I’m watching, saving, maybe coming back to.

📚 THE LIBRARY!!!!! 😛

If you want to check out my thoughts on mindful consumption checkout my new post in the \readme folder. My reignited love for the library stems directly from that. Because books are expensive and I am someone who is re-figuring out what genres I like so the library is a free way for me to dabble in new genres.

SO back to The Library of it all. When was the last time you visited yours??

Me…yesterday and I picked up 2 new books to read. I am realizing my current genre is character driven novels (which is completely incongruous with the BookTok vibes). I have been in such a reading slump lately and then I took a chance on the book called Family Drama by Rebecca Fallon and ended up loving it!

Then I went back with this in mind and found my current read How to Fall out of Love Madly by Jana Casale which I am about 50 pages into and loving tremendously. This one is still character driven for sure but focuses on women in their early thirties trying to figure it out while talking candidly about female friendships, romantic relationships, and the relationship with yourself. I am loving it.

I also checked out the wren, the wren by Anne Enright which is a Booker Prize winner. In the library I was drawn to the front cover so I opened it up and started reading. I got 10 pages in right then and there while standing! For me that is a sign that I will enjoy it and again it’s free so if I end up hating it no harm no foul.

Alls this to say…get a library card, its cool, its fun and its a great way to engage with genres and writing you otherwise wouldn’t because the average hardcover is $30 and that’s too much of a gamble for you to end up DNFing the whole thing!

🏖️ FLORIDA YOUTUBERS! 🌴

Natalie Zacek, Greta Wilson, Hanna Noelle, and Rachel Muse! They are a group of women living in Florida with the most wholesome, beauty content that has been keeping me a float during this season of cold dark nights. (although today is the Spring Equinox so sunshine here we come!!)

Always I have been absolutely living for their content on YouTube and Instagram.

🩰 Ballerina Farm 🐄

I’m not entirely sure what it is about the homesteader lifestyle, but it genuinely intrigues me. I’m aware of the broader conversations around what it represents for women today, the rise of the “trad wife” and all the implications that come with that idea, but even so, I find myself drawn in.

I love her videos. Across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, the content is consistent: lighthearted, farm-centered, and rooted in a slower, homestead-style life. It’s fun, calming, and something that shows up in my feed without feeling like mindless consumption. If anything, it feels oddly grounding.

A small disclaimer: I’m not a homesteader, nor do I aspire to be one. I don’t see this lifestyle as something I want for myself, but I do recognize that it can exist without challenging or contradicting the life I do want to lead. In a world shaped by constant scrolling, it’s simply nice to watch something slower, different, and genuinely engaging.
